Low-income households are statistically more exposed to chronic diseases. In Guadeloupe, where 52% of adults are overweight or obese and 12% report having diabetes, food insecurity constitutes a major public health issue. To our knowledge, no study had longitudinally evaluated the actual nutritional composition of locally distributed food aid baskets.

Obesity is a growing public health concern worldwide, and dietary intake plays a crucial role in its management. This study aims to evaluate the nutrient intake of overweight or obese women in Guadeloupe (FR, EU outermost region) and identify discrepancies compared to the nutritional recommendations of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA).
